The right way to portable recording.
The Portable Stereo Recorder that packs the most punch with the smallest footprint.
It is probably safe to say that, of all the personal portable stereo fueled MP3 recorders on the market, the Zoom H2 is by far the most widely used, and the most popular. And, it has good reason to be, because it has become the hallmark of the portable stereo recorder industry. I can’t tell you how many times have walked into anything from a children’s church recital, to pay grunge band garage practice audition, and I’ve seen a Zoom H2 sitting there on its little stand recording away.
While unlike other portable recorders out there, it does since sports to independent league swiveling microphones. However it’s unique, sturdy looking design seems to capture the stereo phonics and the acoustics of both a small wooden room, or in large stadium arena quite well.
We particularly like the fact that it included its own stand standard. And that it sported typical ports at the bottom so that it could be easily stood upright out of the box. I wasn’t particularly impressed by the earbud headphones that it came with. And in fact I think the company would do good to with the unit in the future as they seen more of an afterthought. For as we all know, your earbud headphones are simply not used in the industry. In fact I have a whole drawer full of them, that came with various devices, if you want to buy some.
In contrast to some of the devices on the market, we like the fact that this one, featured an interface that was ultra-simple, and straightforward to use. While the interface screen it is not as big as you might find in other devices is still quite sufficient for the majority of recording needs. And, though I never added anything in the field anyway, I was happy to see that I could at least make some sort of edits on the fly when need be.
So if you’re looking for a quality portable recorder with a track record of great use, and thousands of existing users, tips, and tricks, that can be found anywhere, and it’s hard to go wrong with this one.
